The Greyhounds couldn't hold on to a slim halftime lead as they fell 83-75 Saturday at National Park College in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The host Nighthawks trailed 44-43 at the half but came out firing in the second frame while holding ASU Mid-South to 31 second-half points. The Greyhounds shot 52.4% from the field, 5-of-7 from the free throw line, and outrebounded National Park 40-29. But 4-of-19 shooting from the arc and 19 turnovers were too much for ASU Mid-South to overcome as the Nighthawks sank 11-of-32 three-pointers and were a perfect 14-for-14 from the charity stripe.
Sam Smith finished with his school-record twelfth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Christian Thompson and Jeremiah Jones scored 12 points each. Jailen Anderson and Tim Johnson both chipped in 8 points each.
The Greyhounds (11-10, 5-3) now turn their attention to their final three games of the season played in five days beginning with a home contest Tuesday against Northwest Mississippi Community College at 6:00pm.
