Greyhounds No Match For Cavaliers
Day two back in Ben Allen Field House in Highland, Kansas, the Greyhounds looked to bounce back after the beat down they took the night before to host Highland. Although, they had hoped for a different outcome, things started bad and just got worse for the Greyhounds. They would eventually go on to fall to the Cavaliers 95-63.

Although, they had hoped for a different outcome, things started bad and just got worse for the Greyhounds. They would eventually go on to fall to the Cavaliers 95-63.
"We got exposed and embarrassed all weekend. We have a long bus ride back home for me to reflect and start making some changes. This is unacceptable. I'm embarrassed for our program, previous coaches/players, our institution, everyone affiliated with our program. I must be better and do a better job of having our guys play better. Simple as that." Head coach Cody Hastings showed serious frustration after the game.
Just like the night before, the oposing team would get on the board first. Except this time, the Greyhounds would take their first lead of the weekend as Jesse Washington would hit a 3 to give the Greyhounds a quick 3-2 lead. Although, the lead didn't last long as Johnson County would come right back down the floor and regain the lead for good. Greyhounds showed more first especially in the first 10 minutes and they would keep the game within striking distance, but the Cavaliers would go on to shoot over 70% from the field in the first half taking a halftime lead of 59-33.
The Cavaliers slowed down some, but not much as they stayed hot from the field shooting 64.1% from the field, and 37.5% from behind the arc. Johnson County's starting five all scored in double figures with Massi Malterer, Donald Bangham Jr., and Brandon Mann each scoring 14 points. Kyler Mann would add another 13, while Jordan Nichols pitched in 10. All but one Cavalier scored during the game.
Jesse Washington led the Greyhounds in scoring with 13, while Samuel Chapin would add 12 as the only two players to score in double figures.
The Greyhounds are back in action Monday, November 27th as they host Central Baptist College JV. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
