"They punked us from start to finish and we did nothing about it." were head coach Cody Hastings only comments after the game.
Je'Marion Westbrook would get the games scoring start after he was fouled shooting a 3, but would only hit 1 of 3 free throws. Itawamba's Chris Minton would break the ice for the Indians as he would get to the basket and get the first points of the game for the opposing team. On the following possession, Jesse Washington would hit a contested fadeaway 3 as the shot clock buzzer went off to give the Greyhounds the lead right back. The game would stay close and competitive for most of the first half as both teams were going back and forth exchanging blows. ASU Mid-South would retake the lead with just under 6 minutes remaining in the half as Darren Wallace would a rebound off his own miss and find Kyrin Dock at the top of the key to knock down the 3 giving the Greyhounds the 31-30 lead. The lead didn't last long as MJ Smith would receive a pass in the middle of the paint and go up and flush it home giving the Indians the lead right back. In the final 4 minutes of the half, the Indians would go on a 12-0 run to give them the halftime lead of 46-33.
The second half started off much like the first half ended as Itawamba controlled the game from there on out. The Indians would hold the Greyhounds to just 4 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half, and just took the Greyhounds out of anything and everything that they were doing. The Indians would go on to push the lead to 29 with just over 5 minutes remaining, the largest deficit of the night for the Greyhounds. As the final buzzer sounds, the Indians would hold the Greyhounds to just 20 points in the final 20 minutes of the game defeating the Greyhounds 74-53.
Darren Wallace would lead the Greyhounds in scoring with 11. Freshman Ian Rios had a team high 5 rebounds, and Jesse Washington had a team high 5 assist.
