Head coach Cody Hastings with brief comments after the game, "They executed better than us, played better than us, played harder than us, coached better than us."
The Greyhounds were back in The Dog House to host UA Cossatot in which a game that was moved up an hour earlier due to the women's contest getting rescheduled to a later date. The Greyhounds came out hot and quickly took a double digit lead, but once the Colts started to settle in they started to chip away at the lead. During the 1st half, Jesse Washington would go on to eclipse the 1,000 point mark during his time as an ASU Mid-South Greyhound. With an 10 point advantage with just over 5 minutes remaining in the half, the Colts would cut the lead in half as they would trail the Greyhounds 35-30 going into the break.
The Greyhounds have seen the start of the second half start off much like it has for majority of the season coming out with a slow start. The Colts would quickly tie the game up in the first couple minutes and the momentum would stay on their side for the remainder of the game. The Colts would take their largest lead of the game with just under 4 minutes remaining going up by 8. ASU Mid-South would keep fighting back and would have a chance to tie the game on a Jesse Washington 3 pointer which was just long. After both teams were fighting for possession it was the Colts who would regain possession after a jump ball with just 2.2 seconds remaining. The Colts would hit 1 of 2 free throws to ice the game, giving them the 71-67 victory over the Greyhounds.
Jesse Washington led the Greyhounds with 27 points and 5 rebounds. Darren Wallace recorded his first double double as a Greyhound scoring 21 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
The Greyhounds travel to Little Rock, Arkansas on Monday, February 12 as they face off against Shorter College. Tip-off is set for 7:30.
