K.J. Patrick scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half as the Greyhounds limited the Pioneers scoring opportunities with tough defense, holding them to 32.8% shooting for the game. In the second half, Dee Montgomery hit 3-for-3 from the arc and scored 11 of his game-high 18 points as ASU Mid-South cruised to the win behind 51.5% shooting from the field and 85% from the free throw line.
KeShaun Davis scored 12 points and Terrikous Smith chipped in 11 points while Patrick completed his third game in a row with 10 or more rebounds and his fourth double-double on the season. Teverette Cain finished with seven assists and three steals and threw down a crown-pleasing dunk for his only field goal of the game, and Patrick and Ladarius Mason finished with four steals each.
The Greyhounds now turn their attention to their biggest home game of the season, a matchup with NJCAA Region 2 rival North Arkansas College on Saturday. The women tipoff the action at 2:00pm followed by the men at 4:00pm as both teams look for an advantage leading up to the March 4 rematch in the Region 2 Championship Game.
