The Greyhounds wasted no time getting win #20 on the season with a dominating 122-76 victory at Williams Baptist College Monday night in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
The victory ties last year's squad, eight of whom returned this year as sophomores, for most wins in a single season in the program's brief history. This is also the first sophomore class (pictured) to win 20 games in consecutive seasons.
The Greyhounds used 62% shooting from the field and 48% shooting from the arc to take a 68-41 lead at the half. The game then slowed in the second half as the Greyhounds gave up only 35 points and forced a total of 18 turnovers for the game.
Eight Greyhounds scored in double figures led by Dee Montgomery's 19 points while Terrikous Smith finished with 18. Keshaun Davis scored 15, Terrandus Smith and Trevor Banks hit for 14 each, Jerrick Cole scored 11, and Montee Randle and Geordan Reed each chipped in 10 points. Kamron Rose pulled down 10 rebounds to go with eight points, and Shaheed Halk finished with a game-high nine assists.
The Greyhounds (20-5) return to The Dog House Thursday as they host National Park College in a double-header. The women tipoff the action at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
